Kennen doe ik hem al vijf jaar, deze Frankie Chavez. Toen kreeg ik dat mooie schijfje Family Tree in handen en de muziek daarop beviel meteen. Twee cd´s later blijkt de muziek van deze Portugees verder ontwikkelt te zijn richting rock en blues met psychedelische en dromerige inslag. Goeie stem, prachtig liedjes en toch altijd merkbaar ergens de blues, meer hoeft dat toch niet te zijn. De variatie in stijlen, gebruikte instrumenten en steeds die prachtige stem maken het heerlijk om Chavez aan het werk te horen. Ha, en net als ik dit zit te typen kom er een vuige garagerocker langs, en dat doet ie ook weer heel fraai. Kortom, puike cd van prima muzikant die ik heel graag eens live op een festival of zaaltje zou willen zien: blues- of pop- of rockfestival, het maakt mij niet uit, ik kom en ga vooraan staan.
